Free classes are offered for YMCA Members Only on a drop-in basis.  The free class options are noted in the course descriptions.


*NEW* Zumba  

A combination of high energy and motivating music with unique moves and combinations that allows participants to dance away their worries.  It is based on the principles that a workout should be "FUN AND EASY TO DO".  Zumba is a "feel happy" workout that is great for both the body and the mind.  *ChildWatch is available.* Free class option!

 

15/15/15

A basic class that’s great for beginners and people who like to keep things moving!  Three 15 minute intervals of easy to follow aerobics, basic kickboxing and body sculpting.  You’ll get a diverse workout experience with this class. *ChildWatch available.* Free class option!

 

*NEW* Cardio Mix

It's finally here!  This has it all!  This new combination class consists of kickboxing, step, BOSU and strengthening.  Appropriate for all fitness levels.

*NEW* Step and Tone

Have fun getting your cardio workout using easy to learn choreography on the step.  We will also get our strength training by using weights and/or bands to tone major muscle groups. *ChildWatch available.* Free class option!

 

Ab Blaster

Get together for a quick 15 minute abdominal workout!  Combine this with Step, Stretch and Sculpt for a great total body workout!

*NEW* Beginner Belly Dancing

Belly Dancing for fun and fitness!  Beginner level class focuses on basic dance techniques in a fun environment.  For women of all shapes and sizes.

Boot Camp

Power moves, calisthenics, intervals, obstacle courses, jump ropes, and running. Basic training! *ChildWatch available*  Free class option!

 

*NEW* Core Strength

This new and exciting class will use the BOSU, Glide and Balance Ball to achieve maximum core strength.  A great aerobic and non-aerobic workout.  You will learn how to utilize your muscles for strength, agility and flexibility, while increasing your heart rate to burn calories. *ChildWatch available*  Free class option!

A change of pace!  Keep your heart rate up with a great workout as you tone your body with a variety of resistance moves. *ChildWatch available*

Step Aerobics

An intense workout which alternates kickboxing with step aerobics.  Improve cardio fitness while strengthening the upper and lower body.  Weighted gloves suggested.  *ChildWatch available*  Free class option!

 

Fit and Fun Family

A special time for children ages 6 - 13 to work out with a parent!  This workout includes fun cardio exercises, games and strengthening activities.  A great way to get the family exercising together.  Free class option!

Join us daily!  We offer a variety of energizing, de-stressing workouts during your lunch break.

Adult Tang Soo Do (Karate)

The 2000 year old traditional Korean martial art emphasizes self defense, discipline, endurance and spirit. Affiliated with Tang Soo Karate Academy and the International Tang Soo Do Organization. Uniform purchase required by the second week.

 

Pilates

A body balancing system that improves muscle strength and flexibility, balance, posture and overall well-being.  Pilates aims to develop the body’s core to create stability for maximum efficiency and minimal effort. This class is great for everyone!  *ChildWatch available*


Cycling

Want to burn 500 calories in just 45 minutes?  Spinning is the most popular group fitness program in the country!  With no complicated moves to learn, a motivated group environment, top-notch instructors and music that begs your legs to pedal, you'll find you're having a blast as you pedal your way to a learner, stronger body! *ChildWatch available*

 


Yoga

A series of poses for decreasing stress and increasing flexibility.  Flowing movements and poses  with concentration on form, breathing and relaxation.  All levels are welcome as variations are offered.  *ChildWatch available.*


Personal Trainer & Fitness Orientations

Are you looking to improve your cardiovascular fitness, strength, endurance, flexibility?  Or just improve your body composition through regular exercise? Or are you looking for sport specific training?  The YMCA's certified personal trainers can assist you in reaching your goals.  Our trainers can motivate you and keep you on track.  Available for 1 on 1 training or Buddy training.

Fitness Testing & Consultation

These tests are designed to help you meet your fitness goals and be successful.  Testing is approximately 45 minutes.  YMCA Members Only. Members must be at least 14 years of age to utilize this service.

 

Testing includes:

*Resting heart rate

*Predicted maximum heart rate and target heart rate

*Blood Pressure

*Body Fat and Body Mass Index testing

*Strength and Endurance testing

Cardiovascular testing

Dog Obedience Series

Puppy Plus Agility

For puppies 2 1/2 - 5 months old. Turn your spunky mischievous puppy into a well mannered dog.  Teach puppy appropriate behaviors now.  Your puppy will learn sit, stand, down, and wait commands and to stay with you on leash.  Confidence building games, socialization and trick training round out this comprehensive program.  Pre-registration is required. Participants must use the Main Street entrance to the facility.


Basic Dog Obedience

For dogs four months and older.  Dogs will learn to respond to the basic commands of sit, down, stand, stay, wait, leave it and come.  Dogs learn to focus attention on you.  Emphasis will be on teaching appropriate behaviors, especially greeting other dogs and people and walking on a leash. Pre-registration is required. Participants must use the main street entrance to the facility.

 

Basic Dog Obedience II

For dogs who have graduated Basic I.  Continues working to make commands reliable.  Begins off-leash work. Pre-registration is required.  Participants must use the Main Street entrance to the facility.

 

 

SilverSneakers

 

Nazareth YMCA SilverSneakers® members have the opportunity to use all YMCA facilities and enjoy special SilverSneakers® fitness offerings activities at no additional charge. Plus, you may participate in all YMCA programs at our member rates.  SilverSneakers® offers various prizes throughout the year for those who use their membership often. You can also take part in special events, too!

 

Muscular Strength & Range of Movement

Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement and activity for daily living skills. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles and a ball are offered for resistance; and a chair is used for seated and/or standing support.  Please wear comfortable clothes and rubber-soled shoes.


Cardio Circuit

Combine fun with fitness to increase your cardiovascular and muscular endurance power with a standing circuit workout. Upper body strength work with hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles and a ball is alternated with non-impact aerobic choreography. A chair is offered for support, stretching and relaxation exercises.

 

YogaStretch

YogaStretch will move your body through a series of seated and standing yoga poses. Chair support is offered to safely perform a variety of postures designed to increase flexibility,  balance and range of movement. Restorative breathing exercises and a final relaxation will promote stess reduction and mental clarity.

 

SilverSplash

An fun aquatic exercise class which runs in shallow water and improves agility, flexibility, and cardiovascular endurance. No swimming ability is required and a special SilverSplash kickboard is used to develop strength, balance and coordination.
